Sometimes one picture does say it all (or nearly all!)

Below is a simple, yet useful infographic that we came across recently.

I personally find a major, if not the biggest, stumbling block is getting real, true, solid Sponsor (Senior Decision Maker) Engagement and their long term buy-in from the start and not just a ‘I need this to happen, now come back to me when it’s done’.  A senior sponsor that demonstrates real visible championing of the ‘need for change‘ and ‘instills the appropriate degree of urgency‘ in it creates the environment for change to thrive while idle passiveness can really suck the air out of it quicker than a vacuum in space!
